Showcase + Exit Trials
The PFA Scotland Showcase and Exit Trial 2018 took place at Stirling Albion's Forthbank Stadium from May 21st to 26th.
As with the past three years, the Showcase was a full weeks with training in the morning and education sessions taking place in the afternoon.
From Monday to Friday the players trained under the watchful eye of coaches – including John Rankin, Mark Wilson, Simon Donnelly, Lee Miller and David Rowson – to prepare for the Exit Trial match on the Saturday.
Then in the afternoons they hit the classroom to switch their focus to education and employment outside of the game – running a career/education alongside full/part time football and planning for the day when they hang their boots up.
Each one of the players left with a CV, with some help from lecturers at City of Glasgow College, heard from Brightworks Recruitment Agency about job opportunities and Skills Development Scotland spoke to them about Apprenticeships and Funding streams.
The PFA Scotland Showcase and Exit Trial is run on a yearly basis in the close season and is an opportunity for out of contract members to showcase their skills and find themselves a new club as well as start preparing for life outside of the game.
