PFA Scotland are pleased to kick off Testicular Cancer Awareness Month by launching a new partnership with Cahonas Scotland.

Cahonas Scotland is Scotland’s leading charity dedicated to raising awareness of testicular cancer and promoting early detection. Their mission is to educate men on the importance of regular self-checks and encourage open conversations about testicular health. By challenging taboos and providing vital information, Cahonas Scotland aims to save lives through awareness and early diagnosis.

The partnership aims to help raise awareness of testicular cancer among professional, grass roots footballers and the wider football community. This collaboration aims to ensure that players, staff, and supporters understand the importance of regular self-checks and seeking medical advice if they notice any changes. Together, we hope to break down barriers, encourage open discussions about testicular cancer, and ultimately save lives.

Initiatives with clubs around Scotland have already started, with Cahonas staff delivering an engaging workshop, supported by PFA Scotland staff.

Founder and CEO of Cahonas Scotland, Ritchie Marshall, highlighted the importance of this new partnership, accelerating their work in supporting men in a younger demographic.

“We are delighted to be working with PFA Scotland to bring the message of testicular cancer awareness to the footballing community. Footballers are role models, and by engaging them in this vital conversation, we can encourage more men to take their health seriously. Early detection saves lives, and through this partnership, we aim to ensure that no one ignores the signs.”
