PFA Scotland are delighted to announce a new collaboration with Breast Cancer Awareness Charity, CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and they are on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. They educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chest regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.
CoppaFeel! do this because when breast cancer is diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.
Initiatives with clubs across the SWPL will launch at the start of the 2025/26 season, with engaging activations for players that will be supported by PFA Scotland staff.
CoppaFeel!’s Head of Content, Becca-Jane Schofield said:
“We’re so excited to be teaming up with the Scottish PFA this year to help spread our chest-checking message to players across Scotland. At CoppaFeel!, we’re always looking for impactful ways to reach more people with our life-saving message, and this collaboration allows us to do that by engaging new audiences through the power of football.
Together, we’re helping to empower young people in Scotland to feel comfortable getting to know their bodies and checking their chests monthly.”

PFA Scotland’s Player Support Officer, Diane Scott, highlighted the key benefits for members in this collaboration, by saying:
“Supporting a player’s wellbeing goes far beyond performance on the pitch, it means caring for their mental, emotional, and physical health throughout every stage of their footballing journey.
We believe that by working closely with organisations such as CoppaFeel!, we help provide essential education, guidance, and early support, helping players build resilience, seek help when needed, and maintain a healthy balance in life.
We’re looking forward to this developing as we continue to ensure our members thrive not just in their careers, but in their overall wellbeing as individuals.”
