PFA Scotland are pleased to be working with breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!, empowering female players across Scotland to get to know their bodies and feel confident checking their chest.
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and they are on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. They educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chest regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.
CoppaFeel! do this because when breast cancer is diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.
With the support of PFA Scotland, CoppaFeel! will be spreading their chest checking message to clubs across the SWPL, starting in September 2025.
CoppaFeel! have lots of useful resources to get you started on your chest checking journey. Check out the Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer or learn How To Check.
CoppaFeel!’s also have an interactive Self-Checkout tool, to guide you through the process of checking your chest. Monthly checking helps you to get to know what is normal for your body. The Self Checkout includes:
- Advice on how to check your chest
- Information about the signs of breast cancer
- Sign up to free monthly text reminder service.
You can also follow CoppaFeel! on TikTok and Instagram @coppafeel for monthly checking reminders, educational content and more. Alternatively, you can sign up to CoppaFeel!’s free monthly text reminder service.
