While St Johnstone’s successful title charge has been a team success, Jamie Gullan and Josh McPake are both nominated for their outstanding efforts across the season. Andrew Tod’s goals have helped push Dunfermline into promotion contention as well as next month’s Scottish Cup Final, while Ben Stanway has been a central figure for Partick Thistle as they bid to return to the top division.
In League 1, four teams are represented with Alfie Stewart the nominee for league leaders Inverness. The league’s two top scorers Oliver Shaw (Hamilton) and Kieran Shanks (Peterhead) are both recognised for their goalscoring prowess, as is Stenhousemuir’s Ross Taylor who has been pivotal across the season for the Warriors.
It’s a similar story in League 2 with four nominees from four different clubs. In a thrilling title race that looks set to go to the wire. John Robertson has scored 19 league goals for league leaders East Kilbride, a total matched by Mark Stowe of nearest challengers The Spartans. Meanwhile 41-year-old Annan player manager Wullie Gibson receives a nomination, while Lewis Reid is recognised for his efforts as Stranraer bid for a playoff place.
The overall winners will be announced on Sunday 3rd May, at the PFA Scotland Awards dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow.
The nominations for SPFL Premiership Player of the Year, SPFL Young Player of the Year, SWPL Player of the Year and SWPL Young Player of the Year will be announced on Monday, 27 April.
