PFA Scotland has launched its first-ever Pre-Season Camp, providing out of contract members with a full-time training environment to prepare for the season ahead.
The three-week programme, which began on Monday 22 June, is being delivered at Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex and represents a significant new support service for members navigating the uncertainty of free agency.
Designed to replicate the standards and structure of a full-time football environment, the camp offers participants daily on-pitch training, gym sessions and access to experiencedSPFL coaches.
The initiative, funded with the support of FIFPRO Europe and UEFA, has been created to ensure members remain physically prepared, match-ready and connected to the game while seeking their next opportunity.
The camp further strengthens PFA Scotland’s commitment to supporting members throughout every stage of their careers, particularly during periods between contracts when access to high-quality training environments can be limited.
PFA Scotland Chief Executive Fraser Wishart described the camp as another important step in expanding the union’s support services for members.
“It’s fantastic to launch our pre-season camp for the first time. It can be a difficult time for our members, and we want to provide as much as support as possible.”
“This camp will be jointly funded between PFA Scotland, FIFPRO Europe and UEFA – so, we thank them for their collaboration on this. This is a really exciting new development for the union, and most importantly a project that allows players to feel part of something.”
With the summer transfer window now in full swing, the camp provides players with an invaluable platform to stay prepared, remain visible and give themselves the best possible chance of securing their next opportunity in the professional game.
Registration remains open to eligible PFA Scotland members, with the camp running for three weeks at Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex.
