PFA Scotland is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jane Ross as the new Youth & Women’s Football Development Officer. In this role, Jane will focus on engaging female members of the union, championing the growth of women’s football, and supporting the next generation of players across Scotland.
Jane Ross, one of Scotland’s most celebrated footballers, retired from professional football earlier in May after a remarkable 19-year career. With 151 caps and 62 goals for the Scotland women’s national team, Jane ranks as the second-highest goal scorer and fourth-most capped player in the nation’s history. Her international career, spanning from her debut in 2009, included unforgettable moments and a legacy as a trailblazer for women’s football.
At the club level, Jane’s journey began at Paisley Saint Ladies before she joined Glasgow City in 2006, where she scored over 100 goals and won 12 trophies, including six league titles, three Scottish Cups, and three League Cups. Jane’s career took her to Vittsjo GIK in Sweden, followed by stints at top English clubs Manchester City, West Ham United, Manchester United, and latterly Rangers, where she won multiple domestic honours and was a PFA Scotland club representative for the squad.
