PFA Scotland is delighted to reveal the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) Team of the Year for the 2024/25 season, as voted by the players of the SWPL.

Celebrating the outstanding performers in Scotland’s top tier of women’s football, our announcement, with 1st Class Credit Union, features eleven players from five clubs. The Team of the Year is voted in a 4-3-3 formation as part of all Player of the Year voting.

 

Goalkeeper

Erin Clachers (Hibernian)

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has been a rock for Hibernian, earning her place with a series of commanding performances. Clachers, who is on loan from Glasgow City, has kept an impressive 10 clean sheets in 16 league games.

Defenders

Emma Lawton (Celtic)

A huge year for Lawton sees her earn back-to-back spots in Team of the Year. The 23-year-old full back joined Celtic in the summer and has contributed seven goals and six assists this season. Lawton, who scored in her second Scotland cap earlier in the season, has had a memorable season and will be looking to continue to develop as part of Celtic’s defence.

Samantha van Diemen (Glasgow City)

The 23-year-old Dutch centre-back has been a pillar of Glasgow City’s defence. van Diemen, brings composure and dynamism, helping City maintain one of the league’s stingiest defensive records. Her ability to start attacks from the back has been vital.

Leah Eddie (Rangers)

At 24, the Rangers defender has established herself as one of Scotland’s finest defenders. Eddie, who signed from Hibernian in 2024, has been a key part of Rangers’ title challenge and has seen her feature regularly in Scotland squads.

Erin Husband (Heart of Midlothian)

The 17-year-old defender has been a revelation for Hearts, contributing seven assists from the back. Husband’s maturity, positional awareness, and ability to deliver dangerous balls into the box have marked her as a star of the future, already shining in her breakout season.

 

Midfielders

Kirsty Maclean (Rangers)

A driving force in Rangers’ midfield, Maclean 20, brings tenacity and creativity to the Rangers midfield. The Gers are eyeing up a treble and MacLean has impressed her peers as being a key part of that.

Eilidh Shore (Heart of Midlothian)

Shore has enjoyed an excellent season since joining from Aberdeen last summer. Emerging as a key part of the Hearts midfield, the 23 year-old combines defensive grit with an ability to drive forward, Shore has helped Hearts in a really competitive league.

Aleigh Gambone (Glasgow City)

The 22-year-old American midfielder has dazzled with seven assists this season. Gambone, who arrived from the University of North Carolina in 2024, has been voted as one of the league’s best midfielders by her peers.

 

Forwards

Eilidh Adams (Hibernian)

Adams has been a goal-scoring sensation, netting 21 goals this season. Adams, a product of Hibs’ academy, combines clinical finishing with intelligent movement, establishing herself as one of the league’s deadliest strikers and a key figure in Hibs’ attack at just 21 years old.

Katie Wilkinson (Rangers)

The most prolific player in Scotland, Wilkinson has bagged 34 goals since joining Rangers in the summer. The 30 year-old has played a pivotal role in Rangers’ title challenge, whilst also scoring in their Sky Sports Cup Final win.

Brenna Lovera (Glasgow City)

The 28-year-old American forward has scored 15 goals in the SWPL season after fighting back from a long term injury. Lovera blends pace, skill, and finishing, making her a constant threat and a key part of City’s bid to reclaim the title.
