SPFL Premiership champions Celtic provide three nominations, with club captain and 2022 Player of the Year Callum McGregor joined by Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn. Dundee’s Simon Murray is also nominated after a superb season with 22 goals in all competitions.
With a thrilling SWPL title race yet to be decided, four of the teams vying for the title each have one Player of the Year nominee. League leaders Hibernian are represented by Eilidh Adams, who’s nominated in two categories, while Emma Lawton is nominated from champions Celtic. Meanwhile 32-goal Katie Wilkinson represents Rangers, and Dutch international Samantha Van Diemen is rewarded after an outstanding first season with Glasgow City.
Players from four clubs receive recognition in the SPFL Young Player category, including Celtic’s Arne Engels and Hamza Igamane of Rangers. Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller is nominated for a second successive season and is joined by another 18-year-old in Heart of Midlothian striker James Wilson.
Three Edinburgh teams are represented in the SWPL 1 Young Player category, with Eilidh Adams joined by Hannah Jordan of The Spartans and Heart of Midlothian’s Erin Husband, alongside Laura Berry of Rangers.
The overall winners will be announced on Sunday, 4 May, at the PFA Scotland Awards dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow.
