PFA Scotland is proud to announce the Scottish League One Team of the Year for the 2024/25 season, as voted by the players across the third tier of Scottish football
The announcement, with Persimmon Homes, features eleven players from six clubs. The team is voted in a 4-3-3 formation by players as part of annual Player of the Year voting.
Goalkeeper
Musa Dibaga (Inverness Caledonian Thistle)
The 25-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has been a revelation for Inverness, even in the challenging circumstances. Dibaga who has climbed up the divisions from the lower leagues of Scotland, earned international recognition with The Gambia after his sterling form.
Defenders
Scott Taggart (Alloa Athletic)
Into his eighth year at the Wasps, Taggart has looked assured for Andy Graham’s side this season. Proving to be useful at both ends of the pitch, Taggart has 10 G/A as Alloa aim to finish in a play-off spot in their final games.
Gregor Buchanan (Stenhousemuir)
The 35-year-old centre-back and Stenhousemuir captain has been a rock at the heart of their defence. After winning PFA Scotland League Two Player of the Year in 2024, Buchanan has been a big part of the reason that the Warriors continue to impress – the club are on course to finish in the top 4 spots in League One.
Thomas O’Brien (Arbroath)
O’Brien continues to impress year on year for the Lichties. Now eight years into his Arbroath career, the defender has proved pivotal to the club’s rise up the table. With the club bouncing back to the Championship at the first time of asking, there is no doubt O’Brien will continue to be a key part of their plans.
Danny Devine (Inverness Caledonian Thistle)
The 32-year-old centre-back has been a linchpin for Inverness, providing stability amid off-field challenges. Devine, who returned to Inverness in 2020 after stints with Partick Thistle and Dunfermline, brings experience and composure to the Caley backline.
Midfielders
Ross Cunningham (Kelty Heats)
No player in the league has scored more goals than Cunningham at the time of writing. The Bathgate born midfielder has been in excellent form for the Maroon Machine, earning him a spot in Team of the Year.
Fraser Taylor (Arbroath)
The 22 year-old is the most creative player in League One. Taylor, who is on loan from St Mirren, has recorded 14 assists in 28 games for Arbroath, notching 7 goals to boot. A fantastic season.
Fraser Fyvie (Cove Rangers)
Fyvie has spent six years at the Balmoral Stadium and will be eyeing another promotion as Cove look to end the season on a high.
The 32 year old midfielder has recorded 8 goals and 4 assists in the league, impressing his opponents along the way.
Forwards
Scott Stewart (Arbroath)
Playing in several positions for Gold and Hamilton’s side, Stewart has been in strong form across 24/25. With 12 goal contributions, the 28 year-old has been an important part of the club’s resurgence, with a return to the Championship in place.
Mitchel Megginson (Cove Rangers)
The Cove captain has been top goal scorer in the league three times before and is looking to do so again. Megginson is averaging a goal every 182 minutes and has been voted by his opponents as one of the league’s top forwards.
Alfie Bavidge (Inverness Caledonian Thistle)
Bavidge joined Caley at the beginning of the year after spending the first half of the season at Ayr United. 6 goals in 10 games followed for Bavidge, who impressed opponents enough to earn a spot in Team of the Year, at just 19. The striker returns to Aberdeen in the summer with big ambitions.
