PFA Scotland is proud to announce the Championship Team of the Year for the 2024/25 season, as voted by the players competing in Scotland’s second tier.
This year’s announcement, with 1st Class Credit Union, features eleven players from three clubs and is in a 4-3-3 formation.
Goalkeeper
Jérôme Prior (Livingston)
The 29-year-old French goalkeeper has been a commanding presence for Livingston since joining in 2024. Prior, formerly with Bordeaux and PAS Giannina, brings experience and agility which have been vital in Livingston’s push for promotion.
Defenders
Keelan Adams (Falkirk)
At 23, the right-back has made a remarkable transition from the Lowland League with Cumbernauld Colts to the Championship. Adams has been ever-present for Falkirk, contributing two goals and four assists with powerful running and attacking flair, earning him a standout spot in this year’s team.
Ryan McGowan (Livingston)
The 35-year-old Australian centre-back has brought leadership and resilience to Livingston’s backline. McGowan’s experience has been invaluable for the Lions as they remain in the hunt for promotion back to the Premiership.
Liam Henderson (Falkirk)
Henderson has been a revelation for Falkirk this term. The 28 year-old’s versatility, composure, and leadership skills have helped Falkirk into pole position for a potential Premiership return.
Scott McMann (Ayr United)
A reliable left-back at 28, McMann has been a consistent performer for Ayr United. In Team of the Year last season with Dundee United, McMann has been in strong form for the Honest Men across the campaign.
Midfielders
Jamie Brandon (Livingston)
The 27-year-old midfielder was named Livingston captain in the summer and has kicked on to produce an excellent season. Brandon’s energy, tackling, and ability to drive forward have added balance to the midfield, contributing to Livingston’s strong campaign.
Brad Spencer (Falkirk)
The 29-year-old midfielder has been the heartbeat of Falkirk’s promotion-chasing side. Spencer’s work rate, passing range, and ability to break up play have made him indispensable. Having played every minute available, Spencer has been crucial to Falkirk’s impressive season.
Ben Dempsey (Ayr United)
At 25, Dempsey has emerged as one of the Championship’s top midfielders. The midfielder combines tenacity with creativity and his consistent performances have been a driving force in Ayr’s midfield.
Forwards
Robbie Muirhead (Livingston)
Muirhead has been a standout in the Championship this season. Joining from Morton in the summer, Muirhead’s versatility to play as a striker or winger, coupled with his powerful left foot, has seen him contribute crucial goals and assists in Livingston’s campaign.
George Oakley (Ayr United)
The English striker has been a prolific presence for Ayr United. Oakley, 29, uses his physicality and clinical finishing to lead Ayr’s attack, making him one of the division’s top goal scorers this season.
Calvin Miller (Falkirk)
The 27-year-old winger has continued his excellent League 1 campaign last season to make an impact in Falkirk’s attack. No player in the Championship has more goal contributions and has proven vital in Falkirk charge up the Championship.
