PFA Scotland Player of The Year 2017 Nominees

PFA Scotland is delighted to announce the nominees for this season’s Championship, League 1 and League 2 Player of the Year Awards 2017.

Players at every club across the country have had their say and this year’s nominees in the Championship, League 1 and League 2 are as follows:

League 1 Player of the Year

Liam Buchanan           Livingston

Jordan Kirkpatrick       Alloa Athletic

Danny Mullen             Livingston

League 2 Player of the Year

Bobby Linn                  Arbroath

Thomas O’Brien          Forfar Athletic

Thomas Reilly             Elgin City

Shane Sutherland        Elgin City

 

This is the second year running that Easter Road teammates John McGinn and Jason Cummings have been nominated for the Championship Player of the Year. They are joined on this year’s list by Morton’s goalscoring midfielder Ross Forbes and Queen of the South’s prolific hitman Stephen Dobbie.

League 1 Champions Livingston have two representatives in strikers Liam Buchanan and Danny Mullen while play-off hopefuls Airdrieonians and Alloa are represented by Andy Ryan and Jordan Kirkpatrick respectively.

Bobby Linn, from Arbroath, completes a hat-trick of back-to-back League 2 nominations – he was crowned League Two Player of the Year in 2015.

This year, Bobby is joined by on the list by Forfar defender Thomas O’Brien and Elgin City duo Shane Sutherland and Thomas Reilly. Sutherland has set League Two alight this season with his goals, including three hat tricks.

The overall winners will be announced on Sunday 7th May at PFA Scotland’s annual Awards Dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow.
