3G Pro-Player Survey Results

There has been a lot of debating around the results of The 3G Pro-Player Survey carried out in a joint venture between PFA Scotland and the SFA.

We received 705 player responses to the comprehensive survey, and the key points based on those responses are detailed below:

Q. WOULD YOU RATHER PLAY ON A DETERIORATING GRASS PITCH OR AN ARTIFICIAL SURFACE?

A. 73% CHOSE GRASS

 

Q. WHICH SURFACE OFFERS THE BEST PLAYING SURFACE CONSISTENCY?

A. 70% CHOSE GRASS

 

Q. WHICH SURFACE CAUSES MOST CONCERN RE PICKING UP AN INJURY?

A. 72% SAID 3G

 

Q. WHICH SURFACE DOES IT TAKE YOUR BODY LONGER TO RECOVER FROM PLAYING A MATCH ON?

A. 71% SAID 3G

 

Q. ON WHICH SURFACE DO YOU FIND IT EASIER TO TURN AND CHANGE DIRECTION ON?

A. 66% CHOSE GRASS

 

Q. TO WHAT LEVEL OF THE PROFESSIONAL GAME SHOULD 3G SURFACES BE ALLOWED?

A. 72% SAID BOTTOM THREE DIVISIONS ONLY. 30% SAID NOT AT ALL

 

NB. 64% OF RESPONDENTS WERE AGED 24 OR UNDER

 

RESPONSES BASED ON LEAGUE PLAYED IN WERE:

36% Premiership

21% Championship

17% League One

26% League Two
